Overview of the meta skills i have developed during my HND course.

Communication

This was developed by my ability to talk to members of the charity to understand initial requirements and also communicate strongly in Microsoft Teams with all members of my team to understand project progress. Collaborating

This was developed by working as a team, based on our roles, we focused on technologies we (individually) knew best but would be willing to work together to help one another if necessary.

My role in the main project for my HND was to understand non-technical requirements. This was challenging as the customer was non-technical and I needed to transfer vague non-technical requirements and make them technical for the main developer (Zak Robertson) and the rest of the team.

I would need to make sure that we all collaborated to gather research, provide our thoughts, ideas, understanding etc to make sure that we provided the best solution. This would help overcome our challenges and further develop my meta skill of collaborating in a team.

Leading

As an individual whose goal is to run his own tech company, it is extremely important to be able to lead. This is a meta skill I am determined to continuously develop during my academic career. This was further developed by my team leader role, whwere i wuld collaborate, communicate and

Communication

I wanted to make sure that when i was sending a message that was to clarify a question i would link the correct resources (documents, presentations etc) along with the required context to make sure communication was strong and easy to understand.

This was further developed by my team leader role, where i would collaborate, communicate and provide a sense of direction for the project progress with my team.

This would involve almost daily progress updates (like stand-ups but via Microsoft teams) to understand what each team member is working on so i could provide direction and leadership on what requirement could be worked on next.

I would also look at the skill set and abilities of each member before assigning tasks this would make it fair for each team member to participate in what they were strong at but also learn additional skills.
